Cathy's experience as a Juilliard-trained pianist with a Master's degree in social work gives her a unique perspective on teaching piano. She has appeared as chamber music pianist and composer in the U.S. and throughout Europe, Israel, and South Africa. She enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities, and her approach embraces a wide and varied repertoire. Bringing her clinical expertise to over forty years of teaching piano has sharpened Cathy's ability to listen, empathize, and provide a safe environment for nurturing the love of music.

Paul holds a doctoral degree in composition from Juilliard. His music has been performed in major concert halls in the U.S. and abroad and has been recorded on major labels by first-class performers. He has extensive experience teaching composition and theory to students of all ages: at the university level at schools such as the Manhattan School of Music and Queens College, to children in Suzuki schools, and to teenagers, including preparation for AP music theory exams. His teaching is informed by practical experience in sound studios, films and television, work in musical theater, and rehearsing choruses and instrumental ensembles in his own music.

Cathy and Paul have many overlapping skills. Cathy enjoys and encourages improvisation, while Paul is also an accomplished pianist, so they can mix and match in a way that is most beneficial to their students. They tailor their lessons to their students' preferences. Students can study with Cathy, or Paul, or both.

Cathy and Paul love teaching and making music, and their mission is to pass along that sense of joy, wonder, and curiosity to their students.

After all, the most important word in music is:
